LEAVE A NOTE

Friday, Nov. 21, 2003 - 6:26 p.m.

wow. It is 6:30 and I am still at the office. And I really want to go home, but I don't have internet over the weekend, so I'm going to write this first. However, as I'm trying to make it quick, don't expect it to be clear.

I don't really want to talk about me this time round though. Just some random thoughts.

* There's this music thing I've been noticing. It makes me happy. I've seen guy artists, writing very emotional, lyric based, thoughtful, melodic music (that could be seen as made for girls I guess), but I've noticed equal numbers of guys and girl fans. Examples, John Mayer and Dashboard Confessional.

This makes me happy. One, because these guys are getting recognition for their music, not just being blown off as pretty boys that write for the female audience crushing on them. Two, it proves to me that guys have a deeper level than they are often given credit for.

* Michael J. Fox made me respect him even more than I do with a short statement. When asked if there were ever times when he just thinks "why me" he said: "No. Kind of pointless. why not me."

He has always carried himself with a dignity and lack of self-pity (even while displaying a realistic, honest feeling of regret for having Parkinses) that the world needs to see.

* I saw a movie premiere last night for Dirty Dancing: Havannah Nights. It was a decent movie. You have to like dance movies (I almost can't believe that in my mind there is a whole classification of these, but there is), but it was surprisingly more than that. There was a political subplot that was very important to me. It was well acted, and entertaining. and yeah, there was a Patrick Swayze cameo.

* How could I not comment on Michael Jackson. I want to, but right now I know that I would write a lot. and I want to go home. So, later perhaps.
