Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2004 - 6:26 p.m. There was something I was going to write and I don't remember what it was. So, instead... Everyone should read The Nanny Diaries. Very good book. Compelling, a little disturbing and heartbreaking, but good. Also, I recommend Yellow Jack by Josh Russell. He was my first university English professor and that's what made me pick up the book, but it deserves to be read on its own merit, I promise. Today I dealt with a lot of nice people. I went to the post office and a deli and the bank and everyone was super friendly, dispelling the myth of busy, cold New Yorkers. Oh, and one other. I've noticed that many people have never actually read the original Peter Pan by Barry. Well, everyone should. It's just so whimsically narrated that it's totally worth it. Well, I still haven't thought of what it was I was going to say, but I guess I've said something.
