LEAVE A NOTE

Saturday, Apr. 10, 2004 - 1:15 a.m.

Sitting in my Aunt Wilma's house with a laptop that my Uncle AJ hooked up to the internet for me. Everyone else is asleep, but I'm not ready for bed since I woke post car trip sleep at 1pm. And I have some work to do.

Today, after waking, I hung out with my Grandpa and family. My Uncle Jimi, Grandpa,Aunt and Uncle (that I'm staying with) and two cousins, Mom,two stepbrothers, and I went to see The Passion of the Christ. Uncle Jimi really wanted to.

I have opinions about this movie. And what I was really missing right after it was the ability to really have a conversation about what I thought about it. I didn't realize that not everyone does that like I do with Heather and Matt and most of my friends.

They just had some general ideas about the movie and sort of answered some of my questions about it. Although, honestly, not incredibly well.

These are my quick comments on the movie: 1-the role of Satan needed to be dropped or expanded. As it was it was just confusing and tedious. 2-With such a great cast, this movie could have really driven home something great, but instead focused on the gruesome and horrific. In other words,it needed more flashbacks...this leads to 3- It assumed the audience was Christian. The significance of Jesus (as a loving way to find God and/or just as a person with a good message) is as much in his actions leading to the crucifixion as his time on the cross itself. This could have been shown in more examples/flashbacks, but instead, more whipping.

Enough on that.

So, I drove here after work. Spent the night on the highway, stopping occasionaly, singing, snacking. Arrived at 5am. The mind wanders when you're driving that long. Thus...

Things that make me happy (in no particular order):

1-getting mail and sending mail.

2-CDs from friends

3-my hair this week. It's at that perfect good-haircut-grown-out-to-just-the-right-length stage.

4-photos

5-memories

6-my name. I like what it means ("noble" and my last means "guardian") and I like that it's not average.

7-the weather at this time of year. Just easing into warmth. Warm enough to be outside, but not hot, with longer days.

8-good pens

9-well written writings

10-silly TV shows like Angel and The OC

11-breezes

12-opportunities and possibilities

13-silly online quizzes about which fill-in-the-blank are you

14-fruits and veggies

15-music

16-accents

17-good sleep

18-hugs

and about a million other things.
