LEAVE A NOTE

Sunday, Jun. 05, 2005 - 3:18 p.m.

I had a job interview Thursday. I don't really have any concept of how it went because it was a bit odd. They didn't really ask me any questions other than what my background was, wo which I was honest. Then they described the position to me and told me to email them some clips and showed me out.

So I called Aquent after the interview, like they'd told me to. When I eventually got to talk to them, I told them that I wasn't sure how the interview went. She said she'd talk to them, ask them how it went, ask them any other questions I had and get back to me. I haven't heard from her yet.

So, I don't know.

And I'm not sure if that bothers me or not. This job was at least media related, but it wasn't specifically journalism, so I don't think I'll be crushed.

Yesterday I acted the fool. Yeah, I'll just say it, I was dumb.

I decided to lay out to hopefully get a little sun and start getting my skin ready for sun...so that when I go to Miami I wouldn't get a horrible sunburn. So I laid out for 30 minutes each side...and got a sunburn.

I didn't realize how quickly this could happen. And I guess I'd underestimated how long it'd been since my skin saw the sun. I realize now it's been a couple of summers.

So, after the sunburn (which of course only showed up later) I headed to an art fair/open house thing in a neighboring town.

It was great! It made me wish I had some of my visual minded people with me; my boyfriend or sister.

Basically there is a large industrial complex that has been turned into artist's studios. So once a year they have a weekend open house thing.

My mind thought back to a place like that in Berlin, Tacheles. It was just something similar in the atmosphere of big warehouse buildings made into studios, artists all working next to each other.

And I like that I live in a place where people can actually make a living as an artist.

It was nice. After that I came home and rubbed aloe on my body and drank lots of water. Later had a long talk with a friend.
